No Bake Nutella Cheese Cake!!

Now, I'm sure that you all can tell I'm a bit of a nutella fanatic....and I so couldn't resist putting this recipe up!
I've made this before, a year ago, to precise. This recipe makes about 4 cups, but today I altered it a bit, it makes enough for one.
Recipe:

For the Crust
12 Oreo Cookies, crushed into crumbs
 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
For the Filling
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
 2/3 cup Nutella
 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 (8 ounce) tub frozen whipped topping, thawed
For the Garnish
whipped topping, optional
 chocolate shavings, optional
 toasted, chopped hazelnuts, optional

Directions:

1. In a medium bowl, stir together the Oreo cookie crumbs and melted butter. Evenly divide the crumbs between your individual serving dishes and press into the bottoms of the dishes to form a crust layer.
2. In a large bowl, with an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese and Nutella until smooth. Add vanilla and mix to combine. Using a rubber spatula, fold in the whipped topping until well blended and no streaks remain.
3. Evenly pipe or spoon the filling into individual serving dishes. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
4. If desired, garnish with additional whipped topping, chocolate shavings, and/or toasted, chopped hazelnuts.

Now, as I have mentioned it before, I altered the recipe, making enough for one person.
For the crust I used 3 oreo cookies with about a teaspoon and a half of butter. For the cake/mousse itself, I used 2 ounces of cream cheese and 1/3 cup of nutella, aswell as 2 ounces of (homemade) whipped cream and ofcourse a teaspoon of vanilla.
Yurrrm! Now I'm just waiting for my cake/mousse to set.

*Note: since it isn't baked, the cake will have a mousse like consistency, but it's delicious all the same! :3

Dream Big

Energism

Look at this stunning art by Julia Watkins!
It's called Energism. Definiton of energism:
1 : a doctrine that certain phenomena (as mental states) are explicable in terms of energy 2 : an ethical theory that the supreme good consists in the efficient exercise of normal human faculties rather than in happiness or pleasure : self-realizationism.
At first sight, you only see swirls, but as you look closer, you can see the real painting. The swirls represent the flow of energy between all things and demonstrate how man and animal are interconnected with their world.
Beautiful beautiful work.

A Spoonful of Inspiration

Good morning everyone! (well depends which side of the world you're on right now :p ).
It's like 9:30am on this side of the world. I'm not really an early riser, and waking up early to go for my internship (every morning) is a HUGE feat for me.
If you're anything like me, you'll need something cheer-y for a positive start to the day, hence I'll leave you all with some morning time inspiration :D

The First Step

Hey everyone! Wow, this is my first post. I'm ecstatic about my new blog! :D
Blogging is new to me, so bear with me here.
It's always good to try something new, isn't it? I think  this is what my first post will be about, taking the first step!
I will admit, I don't really like trying new things, but one thing that I have realized this summer, is that, sometimes "new" is the best thing that can happen to you.
Imagine standing on the threshold of a journey. Just imagine the new experiences lying in wait to be discovered. However, you in turn, feel daunted. Afraid of numerous things you may encounter on this journey. This fear holds you back from exploring whole new worlds, that may be of your interest.
Now, at the begining of summer, I had made up my mind that I would.not.waste it. I took up a new hobby in June (air gun shooting) and in the end a competition was held, and I shit-you-not, I came FOURTH place, out of 24 contesstants!
My point is, if I hadn't taken the intiative of doing this, I wouldn't even know that I'd be good at it and plus, I now have a new found love for the airgun rifle <3
At the moment, I've taken an internship at an animation studio- another thing I was skeptical of. I've always been interested in art, but all this new fangled animation equipment, I thought, was just overshadowing the good old traditional media (eg. pencils and paper). But now that I've used a drawing tablet and discovered the wonderful worlds of Photoshop, Maya and ZBrush, I can't get enough of them!
I haven't regretted taking the first steps into any of these journeys and I encourage you all to try new things. Sure it stings a bit, at first, and you may never want to do that particular thing again, but you have to atleast TRY it. How do you know you won't like it, until and unless you won't try it? (Gosh, I'm sounding like those parents who say all this to convince their children to eat a particular dish :p )
So, do go ahead and take the first step into an amazing journey before yourself.
Until tomorrow :D
